Prawns Pulao

I'm still not well. :( The cold has taken away my sense of taste. I so wanted to have something yummy..spicy..tangy..pungent.. yet light on my stomach.

So, Whats better than home made sea-food recipe? Here I am with my own version of Prawns Pulao! Simple to make and oh what a taste!

You will need:

Main:
Medium sized prawns 20-25, Washed and cleaned
Basmati rice 2 cups, previously cooked

Fresh:
Ginger-Garlic paste 1 spoon, preferably home made
Green chillies 2 medium, finely chopped
Onions 1 big, finely chopped
Tomatoes 1 big, finely chopped
Coriander 2 big spoons, finely chopped

Spices:
Chilly powder 1 spoon
Turmeric 1 spoon
Coriander powder 1 spoon

Per taste:
Oil
Salt

How to make it:

1. Marinate prawns with salt, turmeric and 1/2 spoon G-G paste for about 30 minutes.
2. Heat oil in a pan and saute the marinated prawns for about 2-3 minutes. Cook them till they curl and change their color to white. Do not overcook, you don't want chewy-rubbery prawns.
3. Keep the fried prawns on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.

4. Heat oil in a big pan and add GG paste, chopped onion, chopped chillies and turmeric powder to it.
5. Once onions are transparent, add chopped tomatoes to it. Let the tomatoes cook.
6. Add rest of the spices - chilly powder, coriander powder and salt.
7. Add prawns and saute for 3-4 minutes.

8. Add pre-cooked rice to it. Mix well. Season with coriander leaves and let it cook for another 4-5 minutes.
9. Turn off the heat. The delicious aroma will fill your kitchen. But control urself for 15 minutes. Let the rice and prawns soak all spices.
10. Serve hot with curd or raita.

P.S. I cooked it in Microwave. So convert my 'minutes' timing into appropriate stove-cooking-timings! Happy eating!!
